Fairfield Inn by Marriott Afton Star Valley

It was close enough to family who live in Thayne. The staff was friendly and helpful. We have stayed in this location before and enjoyed the hot tub and pool. During our stay we watched the staff prepare a dance routine to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of the management company which was fun to watch. We even made some suggestions. It so happened that the room type we requested was no longer available when we checked in so we were given a free upgrade to a King Suite. This was a good room with a "living" area with nice amenities. We did not take advantage of the two televisions, but thought it a nice touch.

Scenery was great and our local family was glad we stayed here. They live in a small home. We were able to visit, but not overburden them. The staff was very kind and helpful. For example: I needed help with internet login, they helped immensely. I needed help to print a document, they went out of their way to help. I had dietary needs, they provided gluten-free options.

Everything about the place was fantastic, from staff friendliness to location and upkeep. We loved our short stay overnight between the Grand Tetons and Salt Lake City.

The rooms were very clean, and all of the furniture was in good condition.

I was nervous that it’d be nothing like the pictures based in the surroundings of the town but boy was I wrong. This place was perfectly what you’d expect out of this chain hotel. Comfy beds, modern rooms, nice shower. Great breakfast .
